  • Ashley Maul, D.V.M. M.B.A


    Dr. Ashley Maul is the Suburban Animal Clinic owner.   

     She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Masters of Business Administration degrees from the University of Illinois.  She is also certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture and holds certification in Animal Chiropractic.

    She and her husband, Errol, have several horses, and recently adopted a cute boston terrier mix named Gretta.  In her free time Dr. Maul is an avid horse rider and competes in the equestrian sport of Dressage. 

    Her veterinary interests include dentistry, general preventative medicine and sports medicine.

  • Robin Diers, DVM

    Dr. Diers joined Suburban in July of 2021.  She is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and spent several years in a rural practice before moving to Columbus this summer.

    Dr. Dier's veterinary interests include feline medicine, preventative care, and soft tissue surgery.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading and baking.  She and her mom spend an entire day each year baking many cookies for the holidays, including some interesting recipes.

    Dr. Diers and her husband are owned by 2 cats, Simon and Dude.

  • Dawn Archey, B.A.S., R.V.T.


    Dawn started at Suburban Animal Clinic in March 2007. She received a B.S. in Agriculture from The Ohio State University in March 2004. At Columbus State Community College she received her degree as a veterinary technician in March 2007. In 2020, she expanded her education by receiving her B.A.S. degree in Veterinary Technology from St. Petersburg College.  Her pet family includes 6 cats, Dewey, Opie, Skittles, Pixie, Nala and Simba, and 4 ferrets, Kenzie, Casper, Rascal and Misty. Dawn has experience caring for pocket pets, including rabbits & ferrets, as well as orphaned kittens.

    Dawn's interests in veterinary medicine include Feline Medicine, Preventative Care, Internal Medicine, Client Education and Fear Free Visits.

    Outside of Suburban, Dawn enjoys spending time with her furkids, reading, walking in the woods and nature/animal photography.  Dawn is also active with Westerville area Girl Scouts.

  • Jessica Pobiega, R.V.T.


    Jessica was born and raised in Northern Ohio and is a 2011 graduate of Stautzenberger College Veterinary Technician Program. Since graduating, she has worked up near Cleveland before moving down to Columbus, collecting cats all along the way. In 2017, she finally made the jump from cat lady to dog owner, and welcomed her crazy mutt Albus to their little zoo. She worked one year in emergency, but enjoys small animal practice the most, and particularly enjoys performing dental procedures and low stress techniques.  She started at Suburban in 2018.

    Jess and her husband have 2 children, Mara and Nolan.  Jess's pet family includes an energetic dog, Albus, and 2 cats, Neo and Icarus.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing, and hiking.

  • Jessica Shea, R.V.T.

    Jessica is an Ohio native and a 2019 graduate of the Kent State University-Tuscarawas campus Veterinary Technician Program.  She joined Suburban in the summer of 2020.  She doesn't have any specific area of interest just yet, but is enjoying her new career in veterinary medicine.

    Jessica lives in Delaware with her fiance, 2 children, a cat, and 2 dogs.  Her hobbies include dirt bike riding and customizing model horses.

  • Kaylen Watts, R.V.T.

    Kaylen joined Suburban in 2018.  She is a 2015 graduate of Columbus State Community College Veterinary Technician program.  Kaylen is from Mt. Gilead and moved to Columbus to train as a veterinary technician.  Her interests in veterinary medicine include dental cleanings and surgeries.

    Outside of Suburban, Kaylen enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and getting outside with her poodle mix, Coco.

  • Meghan "Meg" Brainard


    Meghan's love for critters started at a young age in Elida, Ohio where she grew up with a retriever and a Pekingese. She raised and showed mini-lop rabbits for 4H, and volunteered on the Allen County Junior Fairboard. Meghan is a 2005 graduate of The Ohio State University, with a bachelor degree in Social Work. She came to SAC in 2017 from a 15 year retail background at The Andersons. 

    Meghan is a self-proclaimed DIY fanatic and in her time away from SAC she is often tackling projects around the house. She also enjoys time with her family, reading, and making jewelry. Meghan and her husband, Jon, live in Hilliard with their two children and two dogs.

  • Mary Sol Ibanez


    Mary joined Suburban as a Veterinary Assistant in July 2017 while studying to be a veterinary technician. She graduated from Columbus State Community College's Veterinary Technician Program in 2021 and is preparing to take her boards exam to become a registered veterinary technician. She loves animals, specially dogs. She's originally from Merida Venezuela and has been living in the United States for more than 10 years. 

    Mary is fluent in Spanish and English and when she is not working she likes to go out with her friends, dancing, watch movies and do outdoors activities.  Mary lives with her fiance, a dog, Leng, and a cat, Lena.

  • Errol Maul


    Errol works at Suburban Animal Clinic along with his wife Dr. Ashley Maul. His degree is from the University of Illinois in Agribusiness and he works part-time assisting with bookkeeping and accounting matters.

  • Sir Midnight

    Midnight is a permanent resident of Suburban Animal Clinic.  He grew up with Dr. Maul and Errol, and has experience working with dogs, horses, cats and humans.  Midnight’s interests include warming chairs, eating (he reminds his staff when mealtimes are), assisting the humans with eating their meals, keeping patients in line, and cat napping.  He likes drinking water from a cup, and dislikes empty food bowls.

    Midnight takes his jobs as official Suburban greeter and hallway security very seriously.  When he decides he has free time, he will play with his mousie behind the reception desk or chase a toy down the hallway.  His favorite places are his numerous beds around the clinic and in front of any heater that is warm.  

    Midnight crossed the Rainbow Bridge 12/10/2019.
