The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) recently shared this article. Animals with known exposure to rabies but who do not have a current rabies vaccine often must be euthanized and tested for rabies. This is largely in part due to the fact that the virus is so easily spread to other animals and humans, so any potential rabies suspect is a threat to others.
Don't let your pet fall victim to this situation! Vaccinate against RABIES!
