Trifexis-New Heartworm/Flea Pill

We are now offering Trifexis at Suburban Animal Clinic!

Canine Trifexis is a chewable tablet that works for 30 days to prevent Heartworm, Whipworms, Roundworms & Hookworms, and also to kill Fleas.  We are using Trifexis in place of Sentinel, which along with being a heartworm and parasite prevention, only sterilized fleas so they could not lay eggs.  Sentinel did not kill fleas as Trifexis does.

Trifexis is ideal for dogs with children in the home (no worry about petting spots where drops were applied), dogs that swim often (no worry about washing the drops off), and in cases where ticks are not a concern.  Trifexis does not do anything for ticks, so pet owners concerned about ticks should still use K9 Advantix II or Scaliber Tick Collar, both of which are available at Suburban.

Dogs must be tested for Heartworm Disease prior to starting Trifexis.  Dogs should also have a fecal (poop) sample tested yearly for intestinal worms (roundworms, hookworms, whipworms) that could potentially infect humans and other pets.  Trifexis should be given with a meal.

Currently if you buy 6 or 12 doses of Trifexis, you will receive information about a mail-in rebateSave $20 on 12 doses or $10 on 6 doses with this rebate when you purchase Trifexis before August 31, 2012.
