Virbac has announced a voluntary recall of several lots of their heartworm prevention Iverhart Plus Flavored Chewables due to failure to meet stability specifications.

When the products were released, ivermectin levels (the product that prevents heartworm disease) were fine.  However, further testing showed that ivermectin potency failed to meet stability standards during the life of the product.

In other words, as time goes by, the ivermectin isn't working as it should, and your dog may not be fully protected from heartworm disease!

If you use IVERHART PLUS for heartworm prevention, please check the lot number on your box:
