PUP - Pick Up Poop!

Summer and fall are great times to get outside and enjoy Columbus with your dog. An important thing to bring with you is a way to collect your dog’s waste (most commonly, bags). The City of Columbus has a clean water initiative called PUP – which stands for Pick Up Poop. When water goes down the storm sewers it goes directly to our rivers and streams. When you don’t pick up your dog’s poop it can get into our waterways and contaminate our water. Plus, no one wants to step in or see your dog’s poop.

You can go to the City of Columbus’s web-site about PUP for more information on the program; FAQs about water and dog waste; to take the PUP pledge; and for resources on what is the best option for you when disposing of your pet’s waste.

There are so many benefits to being active and being outside with your dog (for both of you!) - but please PUP!
